Flying! (By the seat of my pants!)

Today is almost over, and it's bittersweet, because I accomplished a lot of things I needed to, but it also means it's the last day of civilian life for awhile! So, tommorrow starts the journey we are taking to accomplish whatever our mission may be! I think I'm ready, and I hope most everybody else is too.
I got to enjoy a nice dinner alone with my wife, and in the morning we'll head over to rearrange our bags so most of them can be loaded on a truck to meet us at our MOB site when we get there. That is good in some ways, because we won't have to drag all our stuff to the airport, and then we have our ceremony, so it we'll be a busy day!
I have to apologise to the people I haven't called back today, and I hope you understand I have been running around back and forth trying to tie up loose ends! And the bills I sent off today at the post office, getting home and realizing I did not put any stamps on them! DUH!!!!
Oh well, I will probably get them in the mail tommorrow, and put the stamps on I had bought just minutes before I sent them!
I guess that's what I get for procrastinating!
Anyways, I hope to see alot of you at the ceremony tommorrow evening!
Later,
Erik

Erik-
I know that I don't know you that well, but it was truly amazing tonight at the ceremony. It really exposed me to the army and what it's all about. All I have been exposed to in the past is pictures flashing over the t.v. and the latest updates, with no sentimental values attached. But tonight, I saw how devoted every soldier is to the country, willing to leave their families to do what is required of them, and that is truly admirable. I wish you and your family best of luck and a happy New Year!! We'll think of you for sure!
