Hola!
We are at our first checkpoint, which is the lovely little town of El Paso Texas, in the friendly confines of Ft. Bliss. We had a good flight down today, after an early start this morning!
And it was also a VERY emotional day for ALL of us! There are 13 of us on this mission, and every one of us were sobbing enourmously in the vans on the way to the airport.
We had just said our goodbyes to our families at the hotel, and it was quite a site at 4:30 in the morning, but we needed the release, and I can tell you it was one of the hardest things I've ever done saying goodbye to my kids as they were sleeping, and holding my wife before I left the room! I love them so much it hurts, and to see them affected REALLY effects me!
We have a good team here, and we all have great chemistry so far, so that makes it easier when were gone! I will say HI to someone overseas in Iraq whos wife I sat next to on the plane to Dallas, and I'll give his first name, David K. Hope your time goes fast, because your wife said some great things about you! Maybe I'll be seeing you on the way out!
We got to TX and got our rooms set, then we ate some dinner, went to the PX for soe things we needed, and now were calling it an early evening, so we start the processing tommorrow, and we'll go from there! Please keep in touch, and I'll keep updating!

We are with you every step of the way. Tell Major Rheiss (sp?) that I have kept my promise thus far and that it goes for all of you. As long as this old brain doesn't do a memory fade, I will keep it up.
I have a laptop from work that I am taking over to Anne on Saturday. With any luck, we'll get her set up with internet access and in the loop with your progress.
