Life is like a a box of Dinars...........

.......the older you get, the more money your worth!
Or so I am hoping! Today, I exchanged 145,000 Dinars at the local trading post, and that is becoming a bigger thing over here for us soldiers. Buying some Iraqi currency, and seeing some day how much it is worth. I won't tell you how much total it cost for me, but let me just say that it was $.006 per dinar. Yeah, they are not worth much now, but this is NEW money that has been in circulation for just over 2 years and as much moolah as the U.S. is putting into this country it will for sure be worth something sometime inthe future! I could get into the whys and hows, but whys and knows are like horses and cows! Their poops smells! It is pretty cool though!

OK, well, we are still bringing people back from the Surgeon conference to their flights, but it is better, and that is a good thing!
I was watching the hurricane thing on CNN, and they are watching Rita and if it hits Galveston that would be my second vacation spot gone! Yeah, it sounds petty to worry about my vacation spots, but I really am not worried about the, I just want to go to those places again, and we'll see what happens, and hope for the best.
Well, my kids are all feeling better and back to school full strength so that makes me feel less tense, and that's a good thing. I told Hunter the other day that I saw a new picture of him and when I come home, I am gonna grab him by the feet and mop the floor with his hair, because he NEEDS a haircut! He is not where he wants it at yet, so I guess I am becoming a typical dad in some aspects!
OK, well, everyone have a great day, and I will say hi to Saddam for you!
Later,
Erik

Erik,
Glad that the kids are feeling better and back to school - I can understand how that must make you feel better too.
145,000 dinars - not bad at all.
Was doing the math - hope that some day you get at least your investment back.
The conference must be just about over, right? I was going to say be careful going back and forth to biap but OF COURSE you are being careful...so I will say God keep you safe for all of us who await your return.
See ya. :)

Glad to hear the kids are feeling better ;) I think it's the new style for boys hair to be long. I hope that's long gone by the time Tristyn starts dating, LOL!

Erik - How did your wife and kids fair in the storms last night? It is no fun going through wicked storms like that alone with kids and I thought about her. Strange since I've never actually met her. Glad the kids are feeling better. Take care!

I so hope Rita doesn't hit Galveston. That is my favorite vacation site as well!

I'm also hoping it's not a Catagory 2 when it hits us here in Dallas! Yikes!
