SPF....Yourself in Iraq!

Since Katy is not playing today, as she is down in Texas seeing her brother JackArmy and his family off to their next duty station, Hawaii, I am still gonna do Self Portrait Friday!
This weeks theme!!! Yourself in Iraq!!!! So here we go! You see the one with me inside the plane? That is where the bombs were stored, so in the picture you could say I am the bomb!
So I want to address this comment to Heather(SGT G), who left 5 frickin comments on yesterdays post. Bout time you come back to life! But good to hear from you! Hopefully life on the outside is treating you and the man and the kids well! I will start coming back to your site now! Maybe!
I sense that most of my posts this past year having had a negative tinge to them, and I want people to know that I am VERY positive as a person. I am VERY independant though, and you might pick that up! I believe in doing things the way I want to do things, and try to do things RIGHT the first time. This would seem to be a conflict with a military way of life, but see I believe differently! I want to not do things the way the military is used to leadership wise!
And you can't put your stamp on things if you get out! Plus I have passion to do what is right!
You add that to the fact that there probably isn't a day over here where you say, "Man, It is GREAT to be in Iraq" , so when you are this detached from your life, you are not gonna paint roses. I have fun in these SPF's and other joking things to make things cool, and that is why I don't always talk about Iraq, but again in the same way I used to complain about the smells, and the dust, and the language, and eveything here, I will miss it sometimes, I am sure!
I still do plan on starting some type of foundation for military families, and hope this network of people that visit can stay around to hear about it. And then I will be like an evangelist, and can say, "Open your hearts and open your wallets, and take my hand. I will send your money to the promise land" Something like that anyways! At least if it is MY foundation I can't get kicked off the board of it!
OK, everyone gets out there, and start making a difference!!! If you haven't already!
Have a great Friday, and if you live in the Twin Cities, go to the Gopher game tommorrow, and cheer them on to kick some ass against Ohio State!!!!!!
Later,
Erik

Erik,
About the negative posts - I think we see them as objective. We want to know how YOU are and what is going on in YOUR world. Positive or negative - what you feel is why this blog is here...and why we visit. And your posts always include something to make me smile, or a good sentiment really worth the reading cause it stays with me after I log out and go on my way.
Now, about the foundation -
"Build it and we will come." :)
God bless you my friend.
I guess I could take a picture for SPF, of myself waiting for someone to come home from Iraq.
Liked the pics...Stay safe Erik
Erik, I have not seen your post as negative. You are in a different country, and we have no idea what you are going through. Your blog has been an inspiration to me. Please don't ever think that you are negative.
Stay safe and have a good day.
I don't feel you're negative at all. You're just telling it like it is. Also your enthusiasm for life and great energy completely come through in all your posts. I can just tell you would be a blast to be around. If you were coming back to Ohio, I'd take you and your wife out for a beer. You guys would have to drive, though, as I have proven in the past that I have a drinking problem. :)
I am glad that you are honest about the stuff goin on over there, not negative, just the truth. Keep it up. I like the pictures, they are but a glimpse of what you see everyday.
