Tibits!

Too much to drink?
1st Christmas
My Love!!

I have realised that in the civilian world, being that I didn't blog before I got deployed, I have not too much to blog about. I mean, my life is not as exciting probably when I am not in Iraq. I don't get pissed about things like I did over there, cause the stress is lower, so I don't have too much rage to get out. Life at home consists of family, and next week when I start working in the REAL world again, it will be newer to me as well, because I haven't worked for an honest living in a couple years. Oh well, I think I will like my new job on the medical readiness team for the MN NG as a civilian. I have always said I want to help others, and this fills that immediate need or want for me. Sure, I wanted a job, but I have always settled in the past for something that would work around my wifes schedule of work because she made the bread and I buttered it. Now that I am the man of the house, I have to get her pregnant and tell her to get me a beer, and walk around barefoot, because I was watching COPS last night and that's what they all did! Kidding, but I am excited.
A good person that we are mourning his loss, Keith Swanson, who is my brother in laws dad, but is a good friend of my wifes family passed away suddenly, and we will be going out of town up north for a couple days. Keith was a great happy go lucky guy, and he had these GREAT golf tournaments that were some of the funnest rounds of golf I ever played.
My families prayers are with you all Swanson family!
OK, one of the reasons I don't post as much is that I HATE this damn dial up as I have said before, but I am in the process of getting DSL so maybe I will post alot more then. I mean, being at home, I don't know how a lot of bloggers do it, like Meritt, who has a lot of ideas and posts a lot. Props out to you Meritt! I also have done alot of things in the past couple weeks, but have not taken too many pics, and if you remeber from Iraq, I used too to take pics of me doing EVERYTHING, from brushing my teeth to crapping. (Well, I never actually did that!) But I need to tell myself to start taking more pics, then I would want to post about them. For now I will just put additional pics of the holidays. In fact this post is getting longer and longer because I am wating for the pictures to upload.
I think we are about done taking all the kids stuff back now, I mean, I think that I am gonna do this every year. Get them about 4 or 5 good things and the rest is filler anyways, and then I can just take it right back, and won't have to worry about throwing all this unused stuff away after it is broken from being stored with other stuff. Good idea!
Either way, went to MOA again today with my wife and Kendall, and just hung out and walked around, as the WHOLE lot of us had this stomach bug this whole week so we were getting stir crazy! Missy and I just enjoy hanging out together anyways, so we would do it EVERY day, if we didn't have to pay the bills!
Oh, and I see SGT G left a comment on the last post, and it's about time!
And then she comments on the Midwestern weather and Minnesota sports. Or makes fun of me commenting. Hey, if I lived around Ft. Bragg, I would be jealous of me as well!
Well, everyone have a great week, and we'll post more soon.

Later,
Erik

Good to come back to your site today -- hadn't visited it much while Dan was home. Now that he's gone today, just sitting here again getting teary eyed so I decided it would be good to see what the Holtan's are up to. If you guys made it through it, we can, too. :) Fun to meet you over lunch. Say hi to Missy.

Erik,
Well, sorry about being AWOL for a few days...been getting back into the swing of things after having Laurie and Stephen and Kasey here for two weeks. It's good to see all your pictures and to know that you are excited about your new job. What a blessing to know that you and your family are doing so well. I'm sorry to hear about your friend's passing...may God's love and strength be with his family. Sending you and Mis and the kids many good wishes for the New Year...

WELCOME HOME, ERIK! I was special ops Air Force in Vietnam, Grenada, and "Central America." (Spectre and Spooky sidefiring gunships.) I loved my career until I retired and Congress gave away half my retired pay to an ex-wife who quit with a "no-fault" divorce & no grounds needed.

If you know anyone in that situation, tell em to check ULSG.org for our lawsuit to the US Supreme Court to overturn the law. I should have gotten out after 4-5 years -- civilians don't know what military people give up in their behalf, do they? Have a good life!
