I guess I am not getting any SC pics.

Chill out the pictures won't load right now! I will load them when I get out of this meeting!

I figure since all I have of our SC trip is a memory, I will move on to bigger and better things. Like the CORN MAZE the kids and I trekked to yesterday. It has been crappy out the past week with snow and rain and wind, not too dramatic, but enough to make you move to Iowa. Yeah, I know, pretty crappy. But this weekend was nice and yesterday it was beautiful, a typical fall day, so I took the kids to the corn maze in Afton since I will be going to NG events variably through the next couple weeks, and won't be home to go with them when they go with their cousins and the rest of the hoodlums we call family.
So her are some pictures, and I can say I had never been to a corn maze before and it was very fun. Although once we got to the 3rd course, the hardest one, it took an hour, and we did have to cut through some rows(that would be called cheating)but we found our way out. It did frustrate me though but after you are walking around for a couple hours you just want to get out!

2 tidbits I want to share. 1 political, and 1 opinion

-The Star Tribune poll that came out last week stating that Mike Hatch was leading Tim Pawlenty for governor. 1st off, I do not believe this poll to be true, since I really have not heard too much bad things even from Democrats about our current governor Pawlenty. 2nd of all, we have 3000 troops from Minnesota in Iraq right now and all our current governor has done is support them AND their families! I find it horrible that if those troops come home and he is out of office, it would not make any sense. Yes, I am Conservative, but Mike Hatch makes a good Attorney General, no doubt IMO, but NOT governor. Tim Pawlenty, for those of you from Minnesota, should no doubt get the vote. Especially if you have a friend or family member with the 34th BCT in Iraq right now. They WILL be taken care of. They

-Regarding my favorite football team, to which I have a bad 1st year to have season tickets. YOUR COACHING STINKS!!!! GLEN MASON SUCKS!!!!!!

Alriht, I feel better!
Later,
Erik

What exactly do you think Hatch would change in regard to how he as Governor would treat our troops?

The war and military are federal issues. If those troops want good schools and roads when they come home, they should vote for Hatch.

Erik,
Can't address the candidate issue (we have our own dilemmas about that here :) but, well, snow and wind and rain I can identify with. We were without power from 0121 Thursday morning until late in the day on Sunday...not good. But then that's the freaky things that can sometimes happen around here. We are calling it the October surprise. Some surprise, huh? 250,000 people still without power but that's down from 400,000 on Friday. Take care - my love to Missy.

I am simply broaching the issue! I think we have no need to change TPaw! You are saying that the roads are bad and schools are bad now? Dang, if they are I want to see what the new 10 lane Wakota bridge would look like with Hatch! And I also want to see what $ Hatch would give on top of the $ we just approved in our district to pay for our new schools. LOCAL!!
1 thing..........National Guard is a STATE issue! Minnesota NG members are part of WAR. Therefore it's a STATE issue. If you think that a new governor is just going to all of the sudden build schools and pay teachers more, think again! Teachers are paid fairly...........YEP I said it! Teachers are paid fairly. No I didn't say they were overpaid, but for crying out loud, for 9 months a year and for health insurance they make a good living. And I will start with $26,000 per year to a new teacher. for 9 months a year. I would take it. Oh, and I forgot, no one ever said you ever had to be a teacher!!!!!!!!
See, when I came back from Iraq, I ACCEPTED a job that made $14.00 an hour. I did not once bitch about what I made AFTER I accepted the job. Was I underpaid. NO....becasue they paid me what I accepted. Yes, now after my foot is in the door, I am AD military and paid well.
Just don't stand on the damn school/road soap box. It is played out, and really carries no water.
It is so PC to use that, and also PC not to call BS to it.
I will ALWAYS vote for Pawlenty cause I like him, my raods are good, my schools are good, my taxes are fair, my friends and their families will be taken care of by the STATE programs HE has initiated for them when they return from Iraq. Oh, the same ones I benefit from!
Now, I am riled up, becasue I wasn't starting a debate. If anyone wants to broach other political issues, I will!!!!!!!
Peace out!
