Bad Breaks!!!!!!!!!!

Breaking news in the Holtan household and we can now report that Hunter has officially become a true Skateboarder!
Today, and yes, it is almost December folks, and the mild weather is good and bad but while skateboarding he broke 2 bones in his forearm while going on his ramp in the driveway.
I was putting up Christmas lights and he went off the ramp and I heard screaming after I heard the crash and he said he couldn't move his arm so I told him to calm down and sit, so he finally did and I pulled up his sweatshirt and BINGO there was a great deformity in his forearm, and I said, "well I guess you broke your arm, we should go to the hospital."
So xray' s confirmed both bones in his forearm were broken. 1 was not as bad, but the other was snapped. They had to put him in surgery to try to put it back in place, and it finally stayed without invasive procedures, which is good, but we'll see if it stays until next weeks Dr. visit.
I am proud of the kid because he barely complained when they gave him shots and the IV for the anesthesia, and he was cool when I left him for surgery. It took abou tan hour for the ortho surgeon to set it, and he woke up and got put in a room upstairs and all he wanted to do was leave.
Long ER day, but he is a real tough kid, I can tell you that much!
So, now another kid that may be up in the middle of the night but the Codiene should help!
He wouldn't let me take a picture before we left but maybe I can get a copy of the xray!
Later,
Erik

Sure hope everything goes well with him. My son just got one of his cast off his arms, but had to keep the other one on for four more weeks.

There is no way I could even stand on a skateboard let alone go up and down those ramps. Tell Hunter that we hope he is doing better today and that he is an awesome kid for going through all that without complaining.
Hugs to you and the family.

We will pray for Hunter, and that the bone won't move before the doctors' visit. We will also pray for you and Missy that hopefully the codiene will work and you will only have one kid waking up in the middle of the night. God Bless.

AAwwwwww, 'cause there's nothing to add to the chaos of a home with a new baby unless it's a kid with a cast!!!

Hope his recovery is a speedy one!

Tell Hunter - congrats on the cool cast. (What color did he choose? Green?)

Wow! so sorry to hear this, I hope he heals up fast and painless. What a tough lil guy to go through that without much complaint! ((HUGS)) to him and you and Missy also!

I am shocked I haven't had to go through this yet. with my skateboarding bunch! of course, we don't have our own ramps in our yard like you guys do!

Take care
