The Devil went down to Iraq!
Tommorrow the concert of the century is heading to good ol Iraq, and we'll be hee hawwing all day to the sounds of the one and only Charlie Daniels Band a few two steps away from our building. Yes, it is the first concert of the summer concert series here! I only know one song of his, so we'll jam out a little bit. Other than that excitment we are busy trying to change the way they/we are performing PDHA's here in Iraq. At this time next year, they will not have a PDHA team in country, as we are trying to coordinate the smooth transition of equipment, and training to all the units to have them perform the stuff on their own, which makes sense, but now that it is done one way, it is a lot of work to switch gears. But it changes our mission from performing to training. We will be heading out to train all the people that are going to do them in the future, and it will be on them to train their successors. Once we get the bulk trained in the next couple months, and the NC teammates leave us in July, it will only be the 4 of us in Iraq to pull technical support. I have been busy building our PDHA smartbook, which, if it turns out to look like the picture in my head, will be all the future units need to operate, and troubleshoot the equipment and get their soldiers home with a good PDHA. So who knows what it will be like with just 4 of us here! We'll probably have to peel potatoes or something. I better not say that!
I know I have been slacking in the posting department, but even though I work at a computer all day, I can't get enough muster to post. But I have the time and energy today!
I took a long run this morning w/ my running partner SGT G, and we did a couple miles, got to Lost Lake, and I told her I wanted to keep going around the lake, but that was cool if she wanted to break off! She said she was good! Well, we got about half way around, and I was gonna take off at a faster pace, so I did. I got way ahead of her, turned and couldn't see her, so I kept going back to the finish. I made it about 15 min. later, and went back showered, and went to the office. She did not show up at 9 like normal, so we got concerned. At 10:30 she came up to the office on crutche, and in a cast! After I had sped up for 5 min. she tripped and BROKE HER ANKLE! Man, and I left her just before that. She goes on leave in 10 days, so I hope that doesn't hinder her time with her family!
Anyways, I hope everybody is having a good weekend!
Later,
Erik

Hey that sounds like it is going to be alot of fun. I think I only know the one song too.
There was a fire in CR yesterday between Hanson and Main St it burned 40 acres I guess it stopped just before it hit buildings.
I passedright away in the beginning and it looked like they would get it under control fast. But I guess not.
It is very very dry here some rain would be nice.
But I guess it is no desert
