Candor!

I got to thinking last night that I don't know if I have the energy in me to keep the learning series going, but you know that was the devil side of my head, and the angel side told me "Screw the devil" and use the fire you got in you. I will tell you that if anything this deployment and all that has gone on with has given me MY fire back, and the drive to do what is right, and fair!
See to some of you all that know me, you probably all think that I've always had the bitching to go along with me, but some people call it bitching, and I call it FIRE, and MOTIVATION, and a HUNGER to change things, and more than that, MAKE THINGS BETTER! You know they can make a movie w/ Erin Brockavich the hero, but a lot of people say she bitched a lot, and they say Jesse Ventura bitched a lot and couldn't be taken seriously as governor, and I will tell you what, they had FIRE, and they made a mark, whether you like it or not, they got what they wanted. Some of you don't know that my fire had dimmed in the past couple years for a number of reasons, and my wife started to light my fire last year by saying "Where is that cocky brash guy that I knew when we met?" And I listened, and it gave me the courage and preparation to start this deployment, and other wannabes that screwed my family rounded out the task!! In otherwords......I'M BACK MOFO'S!!!!!!!!!
Anyone that tries to take advantage of me or my family to further their own cause is gonna lose! I PROMISE YOU THAT! You may win the battles, but I WILL WIN THE WAR!!!!!!!!!!!
To add to the word of the day, I introduce CANDOR, and from the MW dictionary it has 4 definitions, which we'll take the 4th meaning of forthrightness in unresverved, honest, or sincere expression. I will take Pat again at the job at the good company (They ARE a great company, just ask them!) Let's say Pat had to take some time off from work, because the stress was getting to much for her to be healthy, and it was affecting Pats performance. So then Pat used Candor to admit that Pat had been underperforming, and the reasons for it! That is great Candor, because Pat had to admit that there were performance issues, and deal with it instead of being non CANDOR like and denying that Pat was at fault for Pats performance!
Now, once again Jo, Pats boss, again would look bad because of Pats decision and admittance, but of course in true Jo fashion, Jo had to let Pat know how much Pat made Jo look bad by the admitting Pats downfalls, so Jo had to do the opposite of CANDOR, and stick it to Pat that Pat never should have been put in the position in the first place! And Pat has been riding Jo's coattails for a long time! Well, this falls close to covering ALL the opposite things I have given over the first three lessons. So, if there was actually a boss out there who acted like Jo, (Which of course there are not right, thankfully!!!) lets just say you probably would want to be like Pat and do the right thing for you!
I realize these are fictitional characters, but it is the only way I can think of to give my examples is by making up true stories..................oooops, I mean total made up stories!
Nice and sunny here today, so I think I'll go to the beach!
