Selfless Service!!!

The first part in my series today in which I referenced in yesterdays post is going to be about Selfless Service, and I will say that I am including Army values in my series. Not all subjects will include Army values, but you will see that the Army values are normal values that every GOOD person is living by in everyday life!
Selfless Service is pretty self explanitory in the fact that it states the selfless person does not make decisions and take actions designed to promote, further a career or enhance personal comfort. In essence it says you should not make your choices to further your own gain, especially if you have the power to make decisions to make yourself succesful at the expense of your subordinates.
A good example of Selfless Service would be if I took a fictitious character and called them Pat, and then Pat had a job and made all decisions in that job for the good of the company Pat worked for, and even though Pat would have to take risks in maybe switching positions at the job to ones Pat would have more to lose than keeping the same position that Pat was comfortable with, Pat thought of the need and did what was the best for the company no matter if Pat had a greater chance of failure. Pat's Selfless Service enabled Pat to think outside the scope of Pats future!
A bad example of Selfless Service would be if Pats boss Jo makes all Jo's decision based on what would be best for Jo, if Jo could succeed by the work of Jo's subordinates and when Jo's subordinates fail or perform subpar for a short time in Jo's mind Jo becomes the victim. The victim of a subordinate who in Jo's mind screwed Jo because who knows why, but Jo has to find the reason, and as far as Jo is concerned the fault of the failure is not any part of what Jo did, but the fault of someone else and has the "Look what you did to me" attitude!
Now obviously these are fictitious ideas because surely no high profile person in a company would ever treat their subordinates like that would they?
So take this lesson to heart because it might come in handy some day! And live your life outside yourselves because you never know where you are gonna meet up with the next person and you never want to be on the losing end of the what comes around goes around story!
Anyways, outside of my lesson I have been dealing with an insect issue today as I had hundreds of some kind of bug on me when I got up to the office today, I had preventative med look at them, but they don't know what they are, so I guess I will just spray Raid wherever I go! I know it is wussy like, but I hate fricking bugs so much, and I hate ticks even more! I do not mind snakes and scorpions, but I hate bugs, just look at the name bugs, and there is a reason they call them "bugs"!
Have a great Sunday all, and make the best of what you have!
Later,
Erik

I have an idea E-Ticket. You could start up your own business and maybe it could be a non-profit one and you could have mandatory meeting from time to time so your employees could pat eachother on the back. And maybe push the great idea of selfless service. But remember, in the end, some people only care about themself and will do whatever it takes to get what they want. Remember, what is mind-boggling to us is normal behavior to others. We can only hope we aren't close to them when they implode. (Which is only a matter of time!)
