Mixed emotions!

My brother Mark visiting from Colorado the kids! And I love the pic of Madison sleeping holding Kendall!

You know that feeling you have when it is a normal day and things are just fine, and your going about the same things you are doing every day, but you always reference something in your head that makes you come back to earth! Well, today is kind of one of those days!
My wife emailed and said that a fmily on our block had been in a car accident, and while I did not know the parents, Hunter idolized the 2 boys, Zack, and Jack! They were a little older than him, and they skateboarded and rode bike and had friends across the street from us! Well, Hunter, LOVED to talk to them, and show them how cool he was at skateboarding, and always wanted to invite them to his birthday parties! Well, their dad was killed instantly in the accident, and the to boys were seriously injured, and as far as what the Mpls. paper said they will survive, and the mother is in the hospital as well! My prayers go out to ALL their family, and it puts me being gone temporarily in perspective, as it should, and no matter how much I miss my family, or they miss me, the fact is we are STILL HERE to miss each other, and as much as it sucks, I LOVE having a family to miss!
Anyways, I don't have that much today, other than yesterdays cake picture was taken from the chow hall, and YES, that is what we have for dessert every day! We also have a Baskin Robbins Ice Cream bar for dessert! So , no don't cry for EVERYTHING the troops have or don't!
And sometimes even the smaller FOB's have better food than we do! It's amazing!
Watched this movie last night called The 40 year old Virgin, and it was just funny as heck!
It was a heartwarming tale, that you can't let the kids watch!
You all have a safe and fulfilling day in the USA!
Later,
Erik

Hey E-Ticket. I saw that movie too. Crazy funny! "So I'm not good enough to get invited to your little party? What am I now, AlCida?" "So when your baby is born, is he automatically on parole?"

Hey, I forgot to tell you that my boss is going up to Ripley to support the SRP for the next week so if you don't hear back from her right away, that's why. Also, there is a new change with the SRP. T-Paw thought it would be a good idea to bring 3-5,000 hurricane survivors to Camp Riply for shelter. I agree, but now they are going to use the TMC for medical screening of the victims/refugees/survivors. Also, you know how much billiting there is and how adding that many people will effect it. Can you say "tin huts"? I can, big time. Anyway, that's the update from the MN ARNG. Happy Wednesday!

Good Morning Sgt Erik...
Glad they feed you well, sorry to hear about that family, hope the mom and two boys recover quickly - it's just awful about the dad.

Hope you have a good day and stay safe!

That is so sad about your neighbors. They are in my prayers.

Well, Katy, you were on hiatus when I announced I saw Wedding Crashers, but it WAS side splittingly funny for sure! Curt was on leave, and I laughed my butt off OUT LOUD! So hard in fact, my side split! No,it was VERY funny though!
I just got 40 yr. old Virgin, and most movies coming out now in the sttes, I have NO idea if they are new or not! If they look funny I buy them! Quality is suspect, and I really don't care!
Ah Tay I really don't know what a lyceum is except you must mean theater! No, they have become too dangerous outdoors! I just get the bootlegs from vendors here!
I have a TV and DVD player in my room!

Beautiful pictures of your kids. It totally sucks that this tragedy had to affect your family. I am so sorry for your son to have to experience this loss of his friends' father.

Take care of yourself!

Erik,
I'm so sorry to hear about the death of Hunter's friends dad. You have mentioned the fact that Hunter has a warm and compassionate heart, so he must be feeling this very deeply.
Your girls are adorable...there is something about holding a sleeping baby that makes the eyelids heavy. Must be the comfort and peace of it all.
Enjoy those movies...and stay safe my friend.
God bless you.

Oh those photos were precious. Doesn't help the dang baby fever though (THANKS A LOT!). LOL.

Refreshing to see the photos... I had to skip over the last 3/4 of the Michael Moore thing as you already know my 'mind set' today re; the news and the whole issue.

Best to leave that all behind me this week....

So? I concentrating on the baby photos. :)
