SPF Before and After!!
Well, mood is better the last couple days, so that is good, and my crabbiness must have had to do with the full moon. At least that is what I am going with! But the air is CRISP, the sky is BLUE, and the dust has settled form the quick change of seasons we had the past couple days.
See a change of seasons in Iraq, means it gets windy, a little dusty and cloudy, and then everything clears, and BAM.......... 50 degrees!!!! Well, 50 degrees at night, and in the 70's during the day! In other words, when I say the weather was perfect LAST week, I guess it wasn't, cause now it is! But, we are just not used to those temperatures, and last night it was FREEZING in the room, and I barely raised a sweat on my 3 mile run this morning. Refreshing though!
OK, on to my SPF, which Katy says, if I am figuring right, would be about before and after.
I didn't clean anything today, BUT I did utilize our burn barrel this morning, and for those of you that don't know, we BURN all of our secret documents in Iraq. No service that comes and takes it from us, can't just put it in the trash, because you would be surprised what the trash collectors here find and KEEP from our trash. LOTS!!!! But we obviously don't need any secret material getting in the wrong hands. I enjoy burning the stuff, because it is outdoor and in the morning it is nice. You can see in the pictures before I am burning the stuff and after!
In other news, they have shut down ALL the haji shops(Local name for them) as they have said it is a Force Protection Issue!!!!!! HOWEVER, the are offering AAFEES partnerships to those vendors and they can stay open?????????? Hmmmm...I thought it was a Force Protection Issue? But as long as AAFEES gets a cut we are safe???? NO, it's called AAFEES is greedy and whines because those shops sell bootleg movies for a couple bucks and AAFEES(PX) sells one DVD for $25/New Release. Skip that!!!! I am only mad that my shop that I get Dinar from is closed, because that lady had the good deals! Either way, those of you on military bases might or might not agree, but I think AAFEES is a joke, and I hate WalMart but they would be better off being allowed to operate on a military base. And of course Target would be the BEST choice, but WalMart I think is cheaper.

So glad that you are doing better Erik. Just talked to my soldier this morning on the phone, and he said that he was actually cold. Glad that you all get a little relief from the hot weather.

We are having a beautiful fall Iowa day. It's only a brisk 38 degrees... brrrr almost time to drag those heavy winter coats and mittens out!
Mis - try making the smores on the gas grill - that's what I do with my kids and hubby is at work.

AAFES sucks ass! Although we were on Marine Corps bases and we had MCCS, but it's all pretty much the same! I remember all the times I wondered how the heck they could get away with charging as much as they do for things and actually expect people to be able to afford them. Especially if you have Pvts, or Lcpls, that have families and can't spend that much!! Walmart was usually a much better deal! I hope they figure out a way to get you guys some better deals over there!! But remember, it's only the best for our military!! lol incase you couldn't tell, I was being sarcastic!! Stay safe and you are in our thoughts!!
I loved the AAFES on Ft. Hood, but here it is SUCH A JOKE. There is NOTHING, it's the running joke in my house that if you need something you don't even bother looking at the PX up the street, you have to drive 10 miles to Wal*mart. The most famous words in the Aping household are "Honey, I'm going to Wal*mart". Anyway, I'm glad you are having a better weekend,sorry to hear about your Haji shops.
