Wild Wednesday!

Here is the Surgeon Cell photo, with me cheesing to MAJ Joseph, and the other is the rooftop view of my landscape job!

this is an audio post - click to play

Yeah, I suppose I say it's Wild Wednesday because the NHL is back and starting, and you know now that the Vikings season is OVER, you have to have something else to hang your hat on! Plus, I want someone that went to the game tonight to let me know if my mug was up there!
I really have no ideas for today, although, I finally put that picture up of the final Surgeon BBQ with our BG! He was the commander of the Surgeon Cell, our little 18th Airborne Corps Dragon Brigade 30 person team that enforces medical policies and procedures in the Iraqi theater, so were pretty important, just ask us! Ha! Ha! Very funny!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, some in the Surgeon Cell think they are important!
And if I can get off into a tangent, I will say that I despise poeple that put their career on a high priority list, and especially when I am effected by it! I mean, they can choose to do it, and it is America, but that doesn't mean they are right or good! When I say high priority list I mean simply putting your path to FINANCIAL success above important things like FAMILY TIME, FRIENDSHIPS, DOING GOOD FOR OTHERS, AND EVEN BEING A BETTER PERSON! OK, we all know The Christmas Carol! Ebenezor Scrooge was all about himself, and that moral was that he cared more about his business and financial success, than others that he even benifitted from, like Ichabob Crane, his employee that made Scrooge successful by making his product look good!
OK, now lets say we apply THE SCROOGE THEORY as I will call it to everyday life, and live with the "Christmas" spirit ALL year! That does not mean give presents all year long, because presents are just a material part of the celebration!
Lets say everyone put other in front of their own needs for the whole year long. This doesn't mean that you never take time for yourself, but, if I am a boss at a job, whether it be military, or in this case MILITARY, your goal would be to make sure you had happy, well taken care of, SATISFIED soldiers. When they tell you they are not satisfied, and your answer is TOO BAD, Uncle Sam called you, and has you for whatever he needs you for! Well, this does not apply to me, as I wold have told that person to screw off, no matter the consequences, but it has happened to PLENTY of hard working soldiers that get screwed for working there butts off at the expense of their leadership, and in the end, the leadership will NEVER praise, but critique only when negative things happen.
Lets face it, if you spend more than 10 hours of of the day at work than you need to get a different job! Period. Point Blank!
By the time you put in place the process for geting ready for work and getting home, HALF you day was taken up by $$$$$$!!!! Yes, WHY do we work? For $$$$$$$!!!!!! Don't ANYONE GIVE ME A DIFFERENT ANSWER. If you say you get more satisfaction at work than at home, than you need a good kick in the ass! Cause your a loser! In my opinion! Or else you need couseling with your family!
Careers are about $$$$, and even if you own a business and have more at stake, than get good employees, treat them right, keep them SATISFIED, and they will take care of YOU, more than you would EVER know! Belie Dat!
I just wish our society in general in the states would start being less about $$$$, and careers, and helping #1! We all want to make a good living, but if EVERYONE at your job hates you and your family thinks your not spending enough time with them, and your a jerk, than you deserve no more than you get!
OK,I'm done, but there are plenty of these peeps in the world and I know you know some!
Later,
Erik

Thanks, Erik. "Wouldn't life be worth living, wouldn't dreams be coming true, If we kept the Christmas spirit The whole year through." That's the verse in a card I gave to friends at work at least 20 yrs. ago. And everytime the women seated next to me started to act catty, I told her to read the verse aloud. Can you tell she recited it a lot? After all this time I still remember it.
