For what it's worth!
I am not gonna say disregard the last post, because I don't believe in taking things back that I say, and besides I still very much believe what I say!
However, this is suppose to be a happy time for my family and I and I will do my best to make it so.
Obviously deployments get long both in time and sanity, and it is hard when you realize that you are not in control of ANYTHING back home when you are gone. You trust that people will just take care of the things they are suppose to, in either their job or personally!! When things don't get taken care of, you feel like you have been left out in the cold.
I have always said that I will remember both the good things people have done while I was gone, and also the lack thereof. I WILL!!!
I am not perfect, and I will try to admit to my shortcomings. I also know others are not perfect, and I really don't judge based on surface issues. I guess if you remember President Bush saying you are either with us or against us. Yeah, sometimes that is how I think!
I see a lot of people that haven't commented before have left comments recently about either being stationed at Ft. Bliss, or were in the past! I really don't mind Ft. Bliss, and it is hard to believe that 20,000 more troops are going to be realigned to this post with the Army shutting down posts and bases.
I look forward to showing pics of the homecoming, and seeing how that all pans out.
I guess I have not been home since the beginning of March, and I never took a pass to Qatar because I never really wanted to. Well, not that I didn't WANT to, but we had a mission to finish and I wanted to leave on time. I am ready for a true vacation, as are my family I am sure!
That is all I have for tonight, and MAJ Joseph, if you read this(I know you do) and are here yet call the Bliss Inn and ask for our room. Me and LTC Spear! We'll come and see you before we leave!
Later,
Erik
