Groundhog Day!!

I am not even gonna capitolize the letters for this post, but our letters didn't come in today, so that means we are NOT out of here tommorrow either. I wasn't really holding my breath today, but we have a strong MAYBE for tommorrow! A strong MAYBE in the military means about as much as when you were a kid and you asked for something and your parents answered with a resounding "We'll See"!!!!
Aside from that, we are just waiting, and I can say that I am decompressed to the fullest and ready to go home, but I don't get THAT excited about it because thigns like THIS can happen and often do. I mean in reality SOME people here are getting VERY verbally irritated. These are most of the higher ranking officers and NCO's. Some have said they want to call their Congressman and things like that. However, here is the thing! If I was the Congressman, and I got a call from a soldier that said "I am at Ft. Bliss, and my orders were for 545 days, and they have to amend them to read less time, and I have had to stay held up for an extra 2 DAYS at Ft. Bliss while I wait for the amendment." If I was the Congressman, I would say "And what is the problem?" Yes, it has become irritating, but I am getting paid, and gaining leave, and I AM NOT IN IRAQ OR KUWAIT!
MAYBE I WILL JUST GO IN THE POOL!!!!!!!
Later,
Erik

Ft.Bliss has a indoor pool!!!
I'm sure you'll be in time for X-mas.
We missed Christmas twice in a row, anniversarys three in a row, birthdays I can't remember any more (to many), because of Kosovo and shortly after that one a Iraq deployment.
That's probably the reason why we are still marrried after 16 years...there is not a lot of time to fight...and if he is home we enjoy each other.
HANG IN THERE!!
Why is there no spell check?
You have a good point - you are at Ft. Bliss - and Ft. Bliss is like 100 times better than Iraq...(so I have heard). You'll get home soon - and Mis and the kids will love to have you!
Oh gosh, I remember hearing the words "maybe", "we'll see" and "hopefully" and million times over before I actually ever saw my husband physically standing before me!! lol They mine as well tell you to sit down and stick your thumb up your butt for a while because at least it will keep you occupied!! lol
I really hope they get you home to your family before the holidays!! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and just remember not to specify a date, as my husband always said "It'll jinx me!!" lol
Ahhh, but waiting in the US has to be better than waiting in Kuwait, right? I hope you all get your orders to go home today, and your next post is from MN. In fact, if we don't hear from you, we'll assume the best ;-)
Erik,
I know that you want to go home and that Mis and the kids want you home too, but your attitude is really great...in other words, you get it. You are appreciated my friend...and your reunion will be all the sweeter for you. By the way, when my mom used to say "we'll see" my sisters and I knew it was a thumbs up. Maybe your strong maybe will be like my mom's "we'll see." We can hope.
Blessings my friend.
Hang in there, Erik. You're coming home to A LOT of people who think the world of you -- so the wait sucks, but the hugs when you see everyone hopefully will make all your frustrations over the wait just fade away. I'm glad Dan showed me your Blog, it's been good for the both of us to keep posted on you and Missy. :) But it'll be even better to know when you're finally home. Take care - hugs! Emily
Tell them General Stein said they must go ahead a release you. After your relaxing swim of course.;)
