Home is where the heart is!!

Got home last night before the snowstorm, and I am glad I did before today, and was greeted at the airport by a SFC from my brigade and he had EVERYONE in the gate area clapping for ME! Man, I really didn't want that but it was appreciated and I am glad to see someone from the state gives a crap. Either way it is good to be home now for good!
So today was a snow day, but not for the kids. I mean in Minnesota you have to get a foot or more to have school called off. At least in the metro area, but I got to shovel the driveway a few times, go grocery shopping, tale Hunter to basketball practice and all that, so I guess life is back to normal. Somehow I will get a vacation, but for now, this is as good of vacation being around the family as I need!
Other than that I am trying to get my scanner working as it seems when I was gone you have to get reaquainted with your stuff and I can't reme, ber how some things work. I will get it somehow and put pictures from the airport. When I am at home, Mis and I are not the greatest picture takers, but I am gonna try to get better at that.Mis is upstairs sleeping and I really think she needs a rest, but she won't wake my to get Kendall in the middle of the night, and I am not used to hearing her wake at night, but I will get used to that as well. Mis has really been spoiling me and I don't need it that much but it is cool to see how much in love we are, and I just enjoy being around my best friend again!
Oh by the way, I really want to phase out the Army email except for Army things so if anyone wants to email me, and I will when I get time change the blog links, but feel free to email me at Emholtan@aol.com
Hope all is well this week, and please buy some Sirius satellite radio stock, so it will go back up for me. Or AFLAC, that is cool too!
Sorry for the plugs!
Later,
Erik

Roger!!! I will phase out the old e-mail. Tell Mis hi and The Steins say "Congrats on having the hubby home".
Well, Erik, your family sure does look happy to have you home. I can only imagine how good it must seem to be doing all those little trips to the store and to the kids activities. I would say that you and Mis both have earned some serious nap time...enjoy the wonderful mundane things that we so often take for granted. Wish I could have been there clapping for you when you got home...applauding you from here will have to do.
Be safe, be happy and be blessed my friend.
Hey - glad to see you're home at last! Must feel good. Regarding feeling bad about things from when you first were deployed -- hey, you and your wife may have hurt a few friends -- but those were crazy times! You both had needs then and if that meant hurting a few people to get what you needed, well it's understandable. Being home is the most important thing -- and makes it all worth it, i'm sure. Over and out, soldier!
Glad you are home - the kids look so happy to see you!! Isn't the snow great - out in rural Iowa they will have snow days at the drop of a hat...lol... Have a great holiday season - and get a snow blower for the driveway - your back will thank you for it.
Great photos! Welcome home!
Erik, So it is about time to be home for good!!!!! I bet the kids are just overwhelmed with happiness to have their Daddy back and Mis well I am sure that is about the same. It is always great to be with your best friend and love. I hope you all have a VERY Merry Christmas!!

Welcome home, E-Ticket!! Great pictures to share.
PS: Should I take Dan's golf clubs off the deck now that it's snowed 3' outside? Ooops.. let's keep that our little secret. Oh well, I'm sure he'll be shopping for a new set when he gets home.
Big hugs from us!! Welcome back!
I bet the not so nice comment above from anonymous- was from a crappy bank member- who has lost peoples business because of how they treated you and your wife! As Maj Hale would say- They need to pull up their big girl panties and move on! Why are they even still checking your blog if that is the way they feel about you guys?
We are glad your home
Michelle and Pete
