Working!
State Capitol!
Me at my parking lot!
Now that I am in work mode again I can say that it is very nice to be able to work at a place that has good people at it. Everyone I work with is either in the full time military, retired military, or working as a civilian but in the NG like myself. Cool group of people, and I enjoy going to work every day so far. I have to admit I am still trying to find my schedule. As you can see me in the picture BEHIND the capitol, I park there and work at a building in FRONT of the capitol, and that iabout 3/4 mile from each other. In the warm months it is cool, but now it is COLD. Rush hour and all that is something I am working around. Sometimes fast, and sometimes SLOW!
Luckily the whole capitol area has a HUGE tunnel system that I can get all the way to my building from a building by the parking lot I am assigned to. It is good for exercise, and I walked about that far in Iraq to the office anyways! I have to also add that I am not used to working an office job, so that will take some getting used to but I like what I am doing so it shouldn't be hard. Being that I work in a big armory we have plenty of gym space and there usually is a game of basketball at lunch time, and a pretty good workout room. Plus you add the tunnel system and a lot of people walk for lunch and stuff during winter. So my life now Mon. through Thurs. is work, get home at 5:30, take either Madison or Hunter to basketball and come home. So working out a schedule to give time to my wife is harder but it is all good! Not that different from most peoples life, but I am not used to it.
My skating rink in the back yard is coming around SLOWLY, as the weather has been warmer than normal for Jan. and we had a surprise 4 inches of snow the other night and that is helping, and it has gotten into the teens the past couple nights, which if your not from Minnesota is very average or above average for this month. I won't complain though!
I once again will plug Dan and Emilys blog cause Emily left some nice things about my wife and I there! Thanks Emily
That's all I have, everyone have a good week!
Later,
Erik

LOL... by the time you get that rink finished Spring will be here! Hee hee.
Did you build it from scratch or order one of the kits? We built ours ourselves - just a brainstorm I had one day before I even knew they SOLD kits. LOL. We've done them twice but probably won't build anymore.
To quote a war hero, "You're such a suck up."
I agree with Dan....suck up. The truth is that view of the capitol is from my desk.
Mr.Holtan's desk is behind the door.

Erik,
It's so good to see that you and your family are doing so well. I love the pix from your weekend - you are quite a couple! And that you are already into a work routine, this is good too. God bless you my friend - and Mis and the kids too. You deserve such good things.
Be blessed.
Great to see that you are dealing with the everyday challenges so well. I pray this continues. Before long you will be surprised how crazy this life can be.
