Hi Erik,
It's good to hear your voice again, and I need to make up for the time that I haven't spent here this week. I tend to think more like a mom, as you mentioned your thoughts as a husband and dad. Rather than someone telling you that you can't go home (as in the Iraq situation) I think of it as always knowing that you CAN go home because that's where the people are that love you and know you best. As a mom whose children are both married with families of their own, I know that their first thought of home is where spouse and children are. Yet whenever Laurie and even Stephen, our son in law talk about coming to visit, they always talk about coming "home." And Scott also refers to being here as being home. When he and Tina and the kids come over there is a feeling of comfort...they can open the fridge and help themselves, or take their shoes off and put hteir feet up. That makes a mom and dad feel blessed. So even though they "hang their hats" somewhere else every night, it makes our hearts thankful to know that they always feel they can come "home" to where we are. They know that the proverbial light will always be on.
I like how you swear at the phone too. :)
Blessings to you my friend.

LOL... I haven't hit the audio post above since it's early morning, it's nice and quiet in my house and I don't want any noise, of any sort. So I just know the written 'bonus' part of this post. :)

... LOL at you. I happen to agree with it all, but I'd LOL if I didn't.

Hey you know I am think I am with you that is a hard question to answer. You can not go home. I always have a home to go home to. My home is Iowa yet my home is here in Colorado. Ok confussing I know. My home will always be where my family is. I call my parents house home. So does my husband. However, We also call our little cramped place here on Fort Carson home too. I guess I group home as where you have roots. My roots are strongly planted in Iowa.
Hope you and your family is having a great weekend!!
